Online, shared world for old machines and modern clients
An MMO based on an open API, where the world is built by the players and all clients connect to the same server.
Anyone can create their own client, be it C64, Spectrum, terminal, or modern graphical interface. The client’s appearance may differ, but the gameplay rules do not.

Persistent world
The game world runs continuously on the server 24/7, not on your local machine
C64 client
A free Commodore 64 client is in development
Open API
With the documented network protocol and API, anyone can connect with any device

V8id is a slow-paced, tick-based online game world that starts as a big… void. There is no prewritten story, no instances, and no resets. The state of the world is created by the players’ actions and persists over the long term.
The server runs a stable tick-based world engine. Time, growth, and interactions do not depend on the speed of the client. A slow 8-bit machine and a fast modern client exist in the world at the same rhythm.
The client does not provide an advantage, only a display. The consequences of decisions are the same for everyone.
Current development status: prototype phase
The basic world engine and the first C64 reference client are under development.
The API & docs is still under dvelopment and will be gradually expanded.
